Your Partner in Menopause: Personalized Care, Real Solutions, Lifelong Health.
I’m Dr. Suzi Siegel, a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner on a mission to support women with real, science-backed guidance as they navigate the challenges of perimenopause and menopause, while setting them up for a vibrant, healthy future.
With over 25 years of experience working in busy ERs, I've cared for countless women throughout my career. Many of the emergencies I treated could have been prevented, and that gives me a unique perspective on women’s health. I've seen firsthand how hormonal changes, especially the loss of estrogen, can profoundly affect the body. The choices you make today can dramatically impact your future well-being.
Dr. Siegel
My approach is simple: compassionate, evidence-based care without gimmicks. I take the time to listen, understand your goals, and learn what matters most to you. Together, we create personalized treatment plans that support both immediate well-being and long-term health.
To me, wellness is a way of life. The foundation of good health begins with how we live- what we eat, how we move, how we rest, and how we manage stress. Food is medicine. Movement is medicine. I believe in common-sense solutions: practical, sustainable, and tailored to your unique needs. You bring your lived experience, and I bring my medical training. Through shared decision-making, we combine our strengths to guide your care.
My goal is for you to leave each visit feeling informed, understood, and confident in your next steps toward lasting wellness. You are the CEO of your body, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

Like many menopause specialists, I didn’t truly appreciate what women go through during perimenopause and menopause until I experienced the hormonal rollercoaster for myself. Hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, heart palpitations, joint pain, mood swings, “menobelly”, poor sleep- I had it all. I understand how overwhelming and disruptive this stage of life can feel.
My search for relief turned into a mission. I immersed myself in research, learning from world-leading experts and completing advanced training through The Heather Hirsch Academy and The Menopause Society, where I earned the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner credential.
With over 25 years of experience as an ER physician, I bring a broad clinical perspective—having seen firsthand how menopausal symptoms can lead to misdiagnosis, unnecessary suffering, and even life-threatening complications.
I founded Menopause Matters MD because women deserve to be informed, prepared, and empowered- not blindsided by symptoms or left feeling broken. My goal is to help women feel like themselves again now, and to stay healthy and strong for decades to come. Menopause isn’t the end of anything- it’s the beginning of a new, beautiful chapter.
You can expect to be heard. Truly heard. This is a space where you’ll feel like you're talking to a friend or sister who happens to have medical expertise.
The initial visit is 60-90 minutes long, giving us plenty of time without feeling rushed. We'll review your past medical history in detail, explore your current symptoms and health goals, and start building a custom treatment plan that fits your life.
Before we meet, you'll complete a set of thorough questionnaires. This helps us maximize our time together so we can focus on education, understanding, and planning, not paperwork.
Fee: $500 (includes brief follow-up questions and check-ins).
Ongoing care is based on how you're feeling and what your health goals are.
Here's what you can expect:
Follow-up visits are 30–45 minutes and provide time to review your progress, adjust medications, and refine your care plan. Once we find what works best, you can typically receive a full year of prescription refills.
Fee: $250 per visit (in-person or telehealth).
990 S. Waukegan Road, 2nd Floor, Lake Forest, IL 60045. I am located within Forward Focus Concierge Medicine on the northwest corner of Everett and Waukegan Roads, above Fifth Third Bank.
In order to provide the unhurried, personalized care that you deserve, without the constraints of the traditional insurance-based system, I do not accept insurance or Medicare. I can provide you with an invoice (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance provider.
For most women, menopause care is best guided by how you feel rather than by hormone levels, which can fluctuate widely and don’t always match your symptoms. Leading medical organizations, including ACOG and The Menopause Society, agree that routine hormone testing is rarely necessary.
I do recommend standard health screenings such as thyroid, lipid and metabolic panels, vitamin D level, a baseline DEXA scan, mammograms and colonoscopies. I’ll review any recent labs from your primary care provider and I can also order tests through Quest Diagnostics if needed.
I aim to use tests that truly make a difference, rather than ordering extensive panels that are often unnecessary and costly. I understand it can feel reassuring to want “everything checked,” and we will certainly review any concerns you have. When something specific arises, I’ll make sure we order the right targeted tests to keep you safe and well-informed, without creating unnecessary worry or expense.
No. Menopause Matters MD is a consultative practice. However, I am happy to collaborate with your primary care physician, gynecologist, or other specialists as part of your care team.
Yes. Telehealth visits are available as long as you are physically located in Illinois or Wisconsin at the time of your appointment.
Absolutely. Not everyone can or wants to take menopausal hormone therapy. While hormone therapy remains the most effective treatment for vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats, etc.) there are many non-hormonal treatment options available to treat the various symptoms of menopause.
Menopausal hormone therapy provides meaningful, long-term health benefits that go beyond managing hot flashes and night sweats. Because estrogen receptors are found throughout the body, hormone therapy can positively impact multiple organ systems.
Bone Health:
Estrogen plays a key role in maintaining bone strength. During the 5–10 years surrounding menopause, bone loss accelerates, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Estrogen therapy has been shown to reduce the risk of osteoporotic hip fractures by 30–50%.
Genitourinary Health:
Declining estrogen levels can cause symptoms such as vaginal dryness, irritation, discomfort with intimacy, and urinary changes—collectively known as Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM). Local low-dose vaginal estrogen therapy effectively restores vaginal moisture, reduces urinary urgency and overactive bladder symptoms, and lowers the frequency of urinary tract infections (UTIs). The American Urological Association recommends vaginal estrogen for women with recurrent UTIs related to menopause.
Metabolic and Cardiovascular Health:
When started early in the menopausal transition, MHT may support better metabolic function by improving insulin sensitivity and lowering the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Early initiation is also associated with improved heart and vascular health and may reduce the risk of certain cancers.
